PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Global Tax covers a broad range of tax related topics, including tax returns, tax audits, group reorganizations, transfer pricing and various tax reporting duties. The essential tasks of Global Tax also include the evaluation of tax strategies and tax planning for the Group. Global Tax collaborates closely with Corporate Financial Reporting, Global Controlling, Global Treasury and Global Legal.
The Group Tax Reporting Team is responsible for the worldwide coordination and support of quarter-end and year-end closings acc. to IFRS and for the preparation of the tax sections in our external interim and annual reports as well as internal management reporting. In addition, the Group Tax Reporting Team is responsible for the implementation of any tax relevant adjustments in the IFRS standards and supports complex projects regarding tax reporting topics, especially in M&A transactions. The Group Tax Reporting Team will also become responsible for the Pillar Two – Global Minimum Tax agreed by the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on BEPS as part of the Two-Pillar Solution to address the tax challenges arising from digitalisation of the economy.
The Senior Tax Specialist – Group Tax Reporting is dealing with complex tax reporting topics, in particular the implementation and later administration of the Pillar Two – Global Minimum Tax, within the Global Tax Team and will be reporting to the Director Group Tax Reporting. This position does not include personnel responsibilities.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
The tasks within the Group Tax Reporting Team include:
Support the implementation and later administration of the Pillar Two – Global Minimum Tax agreed by the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on BEPS
Handling of all tax-related issues in accounting and reporting acc. to IFRS
Support preparation of quarterly tax closings acc. to IFRS
Ensure the alignment of tax reporting on local and on consolidation level
Preparation of tax related sections in interim and annual, external and internal reporting
Support of complex projects regarding tax reporting topics, especially relating to M&A projects
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of tax accounting and reporting in accordance with IFRS
Ideally first experience with the Pillar Two – Global Minimum Tax Rules agreed by the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on BEPS
University degree (or comparable) in business studies
Four to eight years working experience, preferably in international tax consulting firm or tax function of a multinational company with a focus on tax accounting and reporting acc. to IFRS.
Qualified Tax Advisor/CTC/CPA or comparable qualification is a plus
Preferably knowledge of international tax law
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Solid background in tax accounting and reporting acc. to IFRS and first experience in Pillar Two – Global Minimum Tax Rules agreed by the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on BEPS
IT proficiency, i.e. thinking in terms of digital work processes, and searching for and establishing digital solutions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (innovative “solution seeker” rather than a “problem definer”)
Ability to work independently and under time pressure
Team player with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Fluently in English (German is a plus)
