We are currently looking for a motivated Senior Procurement Buyer to join our team in Prague.
In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the purchasing team, coordinating buyers from the same Value Stream/commodity in terms of process; and coach them to overcome the challenges encountered. You will ensure that materials arrive on time, and at the best price according to the production plan. Crucial to the role is developing relationships with suppliers, actively seeking opportunities to streamline and strengthen these crucial contacts.
Tasks
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for ownership of an AERO Value Stream, coordinating buyers assigned on the same Value Stream, coaching them, representing them in the calls with leadership and solving the escalations received.
Portfolio assignment of the most critical suppliers and parts in order to react quickly and professionally in case any urgencies appear; and to support in day-to-day business as per the criticality of their business.
Performing administrative work for the buyers in the same Value Stream, including reporting.
Actively work to improve purchasing processes, work independently to develop own skills, observe implementation of new tools and processes, help with preparation for audits and backs up manager during audits.
Obtain the best value for materials.
Procure material according to ordering policies designed to minimize inventory costs. Identify and manage measures to reduce inactive, obsolete, and surplus inventory where such cases exist.
Requirements
Required qualifications
High school diploma or university degree in business, engineering, or a related field
4+ years’ experience in direct material purchasing, preferably for a production company
Experience and basic skills in Excel are required.
Excellent English skills, with other languages an advantage
Responsive and responsible to deliver on commitments, with developed negotiation skills and ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company.
A results-oriented, proactive, team- player.
A quick learner and self-starter, ability to think outside of the box
Desired qualifications
Knowledge and experience with SAP
Kaizen/Six Sigma experience
