Introduction:
One of our clients is currently looking for a Maritime Expert to be part of the Business Development team.
Skills, knowledge, experience required:
Minimum 5 years’ experience (10 years preferred);
Strong business/market/technical background in maritime sector (know-how of users’ perspective, pros/cons, apps, economical aspects) as well as a strong sector know-how and readiness to work from day 0 due to high seniority;
Technical know-how in Earth Observation (EO)/Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) in maritime, inland waterways, and fisheries.
Duties/role:
Identifying user needs and requirements, deriving needs for service improvements and supporting the preparation of new services, in all market segments;
Identifying synergies between space systems/technologies, e.g. European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS)/Galileo and Copernicus, and with non-space-based programmes (for the area of mobility, with focus on maritime, inland waterways, and fisheries applications, as well as smart mobility and green cities);
Implementing cost benefit analysis on potential services improvements to meet the new user needs, such as EGNOS Next (following EGNOS V3);
Identifying needs and opportunities to include EU space technologies across all the relevant EU policies, with focus on maritime mobility (e.g. green deal, transport, logistics, smart mobility);
Implementing the entrusted activities under the EGNOS adoption grants in transport and mobility, with focus on maritime and inland waterways;
Developing tools to support the implementation of the EGNOS adoption funding programme, including technical review of deliverables, assessment of costs, and identification of changes in the project;
Implementing entrusted activities delegated to the Agency with focus on mobility and especially maritime, inland waterways, and smart mobility.
