Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to move forward the Intelligent Automation, Natural Language Processing and Advanced Analytics capabilities at a global organization? Within the Data Science and Digital Services organization at GS Procurement we have an open position for a Sr Analyst that will join the Contracting, Sourcing and Category Management data science team.

The position is based in EMEA. Preferred locations: Czech Republic, UK, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Belgium and Spain. This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week at site.

Successful candidates can identify optimization opportunities in current automation workflows while developing, maintaining, and deploying machine learning models leveraging structured and unstructured data. They will also lead effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams comprising data scientists, IT experts, and business stakeholders across the Company. They are expected to utilize their expertise and know-how to champion and promote Intelligent Automation, Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics to drive business value.

Role and responsibilities

  • Leading projects that deliver new analytics/metrics reporting capabilities in areas such as operational excellence, spend, savings, risk, and citizenship.
  • Summarize datasets through novel data mining exploration, and through the development of current and novel data visualization reporting techniques.
  • Enable advanced text-based analytics through the application of NLP techniques to Contracting data.
  • Managing on-going operations of existing service offerings, both regional and global.
  • Ad-Hoc and recurrent analytical requests and insight studies.
  • Incremental improvement on analytic solutions in production as suggested by the Analytics Organization.
  • Support tactical stakeholder Ad-Hoc requests. Specifically, assembles, cleans, manages, and provides analytics for procurement datasets to enable the data-driven decision making.
  • Sustain Performance and analytical efforts as required to ensure the timely delivery of Performance and Analytics Service offerings
  • Qualifications


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of reported information. Ability to quickly merge and summarize data/information from multiple sources, including experience in data management, cleaning, data analysis and report writing
  • Self-motivated, positive thinker, detail-oriented personality, and a collaborative spirit
  • Proficiency in Python or R coding language. Knowledge of NLP techniques and packages is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization software like Tableau (preferred) or Power BI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of automation tools like Alteryx or Power Apps is preferred.
