As the point of contact within the company regarding the sound requirements, you will be responsible for the oversight and development of the Sound Engine used in Virtual Battlespace (VBS). Working on various customer-funded projects as well as Research and Development projects, you will make sure the project’s assets are well constructed and delivered. You will seek to coordinate with the other development functional disciplines and ensure that our sound technology is implemented efficiently.
Act as the point of contact within the company about the sound requirements for assigned projects.
Help to integrate sound design into the development process, creating a collaborative relationship with other development teams and external partners.
Support the Director of Art/Configuration with sound development tasks as appropriate.
Assist the Senior Engineering Manager in the coordination of and seek to resolve any issues between other functional groups such as designers, engineers, and QA.
Identify and define technical audio requirements for our programming teams and help to integrate sound design into the development process.
Fluency in C/C++.
Understanding of algorithms and data structures in designing software and completing designated tasks.
High level of proficiency in the area of sound design.
Knowledge of proper and appropriate sound design methods, documentation, testing, and review techniques.
Investigation and recommendation of new tools, techniques, and technologies within existing product lines.
English at a communicative level.
