We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst/Research Manager to support the expansion of the Emerging Technologies and Macro-Economic Tech impact research in Europe . This is part of our commitment to help the market understand the impact of technologies in business strategy, with a special focus on macroeconomic forces impacting industries’ digital dynamics and emerging trends and technologies at the horizon.

We are looking for innovative thinkers to provide guidance to Technology vendors in their journey across industries and in the new emerging technology landscape. Candidates should bring extensive knowledge especially in the analysis of the impact of macro-economic factors (e.g., inflation, supply chain constraints, …) and new emerging technologies (e.g., Metaverse, Web3,…) on IT investments across industry sectors. The candidate will work with industry leaders to identify and analyze strategic business issues and key use cases for a wide range of technology solutions.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Research Analyst/Research Manager looking at European Emerging Technology and Macro-Economic Tech impact trends , you will:

  • Drive the research agenda of the European Emerging Technology theme, producing thought leadership reports and driving collaboration with specific emerging technology leads within the region and globally
  • Support the IDC European Macro-Economic Center of Excellence qualitative research, including authoring reports, coordinating thought leadership and providing new research ideas around new Macro-Economic events impacting European digital plans
  • Deliver custom research projects on Emerging Technologies, Macro-Economic Tech impact, and digital trends across industries, and related areas: e.g., authoring white papers, appearing in videos, and delivering presentations at client events.
  • Communicate and amplify key research results via online or live presentations, at clients’ meetings and/or IDC events and webcasts
  • Support IDC’s sales, consulting, and marketing teams by working on project proposals and developing market offerings, creating marketing materials, participating in media interviews, writing blogs etc.
  • Qualifications

    This position calls for an individual with excellent communication, presentation and writing skills, allied to a good experience in interacting with clients and business projects delivery.

    Interested individuals that meet the following minimum requirements are encouraged to apply:

  • Minimum 3-years job experience in a relevant practice at an IT market research or consulting firm; or in a Technology vendor
  • Degree level qualification: BA, BSc or equivalent or higher degree
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills, able to produce insightful reports based on desk research, briefings, sound survey or forecast data, providing meaningful recommendations
  • Professional fluency in written and oral business English – fluency in a second European language would be advantageous
  • The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate:

  • A broad understanding of cross emerging technology scenarios, macro-economic events, and digital trends across industry sectors
  • Excellent Public speaking and good interpersonal communications skills
  • Great time management and planning skills, being a self-starter who can work to tight schedules, balancing changing priorities of incoming work with scheduled delivery deadlines
  • Willingness to be an excellent team player with a strong attitude to collaboration within and outside the core team
  • Intellectual honesty and positive attitude
