The Senior HR Payroll Manager provides operational leadership, payroll operations expertise, and drives service excellence across the HRS Payroll functional team within the assigned geography. The Senior HR Payroll Manager will apply leading practices to enable a best-in-class employee experience. This role involves monitoring the HRS Payroll functional team, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and achievement of agreed-upon performance metrics.

The successful candidate will take immediate actions to drive exceptional service delivery and provide functional consultation. The role also includes responsibility to integrate new Payroll systems, programs, policies and procedures into the HR Solutions delivery model ensuring effective and consistent implementation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the work of HRS Payroll team members, provide leadership, evaluate performance, and drive a high level of customer service. Define and develop team member capabilities, subject matter expertise, and maintain skill levels as required for exceptional service delivery. Monitor and act on available employee feedback and insights to maintain focus on exceptional employee experience.
  • Partner with Global Payroll Practice leader to design, implement, manage, and deliver Payroll programs; including process design and enabling technology. oversee the standardization and optimization of repeatable processes within our Payroll services. Align with HR and Payroll strategic goals to lead an organization of deep subject-matter expertise and innovative solutions to consult on Payroll programs, processes, and people, delivering a scalable best-in-class employee experience.
  • Drive day-to-day performance of their HRS Payroll team by monitoring, tracking and interpreting SLA metrics, and achieve operational excellence as measured internally and against external benchmarks to drive improvement. Monitor and manage staffing needs for the HRS Payroll team in the assigned geography.
  • Oversee Payroll service delivery operations, responding to escalated service demands as needed (, volume of transactions, volume of calls, staff absence, service portal inquiries, process execution, etc.). Review/approve transactions, as applicable.
  • Influence colleagues, customers, and collaborators to ensure acceptance of and compliance with new processes and tools. Manage adoption of new scope of work, including knowledge development to support consultation.
  • Collaborate with other HR Solutions locations/hubs to provide a consistent application of the Payroll portfolio of services and share best practices
  • Identify ways to innovate, improve, scale, and leverage E2E Payroll delivery capabilities, including the integration of enabling technology. Oversee implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to current processes utilizing enabling technology

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business, Management, or related field, minimum of 10 years years experience of relevant experience in managing Payroll processes; Graduate degree (, MS, MBA) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is preferred
  • Experience leading teams within a similar organization and matrixed structure is preferred
  • Additional Skills:

  • Experience with payroll systems
  • Experience leading and mentoring virtual teams and helping to foster/create a “great place to work” experience and understanding of HR enabling technologies (, case management, employee and manager self-service) within a customer service environment (ServiceNow preferred)
  • Payroll domain expertise
  • Experience with an ERP system (Workday preferred)
  • Experience working collaboratively to facilitate the delivery of shared services across numerous locations
  • Experience with Microsoft tools and applications required
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll processes and services administered within HR Solutions
  • Knowledge of HR enabling technologies within a customer service environment
  • Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism in a customer service environment
  • Specialized knowledge of end-to-end payroll processes
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Detail-oriented and high work standards in support of seamless execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Solid knowledge of the payroll industry and technology trends and applicable regulatory requirements
