AWS (nice to have)
TypeScript (advanced)
Angular (advanced)
The Team:
We are a dynamic and growing development team and part of an established Insight development group. We are responsible for the strategic development of the Vantage product, including all stages of development from close collaboration with the product owner, working with technical and subject matter experts, to the design and delivery of new features. We follow agile principles including value driven prioritisation, pair programming and regular incremental deliveries to production.

The Impact:
Vantage provides our clients with researched, modelled and forecast data on global energy resources and production assets. In today’s World, energy companies need to increase energy production whilst lowering costs and emissions. Vantage helps our clients manage their energy portfolios to meet future production targets, whilst reducing carbon emissions. You will be helping our clients to literally change the World.

What’s in it for you:
  • Continual learning and development of technical skills, including hands on work with Angular Material, ag-Grids, AWS/cloud, and many others.
  • You’ll have open access to online training resources, and support from senior technical colleagues for advice, mentoring and coaching.
  • Work in energy & emissions, a key growth area with career development opportunities.
  • Flexible working conditions as part of a hybrid/remote team.
  • Be part of a friendly and open-minded team, it’s an opportunity to make this role your own.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to develop the application UI, including prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Write reliable and resilient code as part of the team’s deliverables.
  • Be part of the team: do pair programming, peer reviews, ask questions, challenge answers, chill, at the end of the day we stand or fall as a team.
  • Be an engineer: think about performance and scaling, operational costs, security and all the other things that make you stand out from the other candidates.
  • Be realistic: Nobody likes the boring stuff but refactoring, tech debt, upgrades, etc. are part of life. Sometimes it needs doing, so we embrace it and get it done.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent experience is good too.
  • Strong Angular and Typescript skills and a knowledge and interest in cool UI stuff.
  • Experience working with application APIs.
  • Experience and knowledge of AWS and Azure DevOps will be an advantage.
  • Experience and knowledge of Agile/Scrum will be an advantage.
  • Must be able to work as part of the team. If you’re a self-starter or self-reliant, great. If sometimes you like to be left alone to get on with it, no problem. But lone wolves need not apply.
  • You don’t need to be a nerd to apply, but we all are. Ask us about Picard, the multiverse, Landauer’s principle or peanut M&Ms. If any of that makes sense, you may be the person we’re looking for.
What we offer
  • Great team – we aim to be team players. If you don’t know, just ask and we will help.
  • Access to the most interesting information technologies
  • The ability to implement your own ideas and solutions
  • Flexible working hours to allow you to attend your family
  • Options to work from home
