Senior Buyer for NTO CH – German Speaking

70! The number of tactical buyers who are supporting both commercial and NTO towers out of Prague, covering region Europe, Switzerland, Middle East and North Africa.

Senior Buyer (m/f/d) is responsible for leading or supporting one or more Procurement categories of all Swiss based Novartis Technical Operations Sites. The Senior Buyer is the key procurement contact to one or more business areas (e.g. division(s), franchise(s), corporate function(s)). The role is accountable for implementing the global Procurement strategic goals on country level as well as develop local sub-category country strategies and successfully manage supplier performance and innovation.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage Novartis Operations Operational Expenditure (OPEX) spend for categories like Production Equipment & Maintenance Services and Facility Management Services (~50m CHF) for 3 Sites in Switzerland.
  • Deliver End-2-End Sourcing including tender process, negotiation steps, contracting.
  • Contracting: Contract drafting based on agreed templates. Full terms and conditions or contractual terms negotiation. Contract review and contract content approvals coordination, signature process initiation and monitoring (ink, electronic). Contract archiving in the global standard contract management system.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders in order to define appropriate local category strategy in line with global procurement category strategy; Actively contribute to the identification of business opportunities resulting in process improvement and savings generation.
  • Lead successful implementation of global strategies/suppliers; support stakeholder alignment and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as key contact for stakeholders within Engineering, Project Management and Site Management. Build effective relationships of mutual trust and understanding.
  • Accountable of target achievements within respective indirect procurement category (Production Equipment and maintenance services, facility management services)

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • University/Advanced degree in Business Administration/Economics/Engineering/Logistics is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in procurement in a large multinational organization, preferably in pharmaceutical industry and/or GMP environment; Minimum 3 years of experience working in Indirect Procurement.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and German is a must.
  • Accountability, hands-on mentality and proven ability to develop trust-based relationships with key stakeholders. Technical knowledge; strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in spend reporting, analysis and optimization. Experience with eSourcing tools.
  • Good understanding of Procurement business processes such as Tactical Buying, Catalogue Management, Contract Management, Supplier Setup and Procurement Operations.
  • Excellent communication, people management, stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Possible locations: CZ, Poland or Austria.
