Role: Senior Accountant – Permanent, Full Time

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Location: Prague (Flexible working with the option to work from home 2 days per week)

We are looking for a proactive and logical thinker to join the Prague financial team!

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Issuing invoices (re-invoicing to a group)
  • Processing of monthly VAT returns
  • Processing of statistical reports (monthly / annually)
  • Preparation for the Czech Republic’s Police answers regarding the verification of foreign exchange and card transactions for previous periods
  • Pairing / matching of balance sheet accounts
  • Management of an overview of invoiced and billed MC / VISA fees
  • TA/IA Asset management – regular check of asset records, preparation and processing of annual asset inventory, evaluation of annual asset inventory
  • Posting of monthly closing operations (estimated items, accruals, prepayment relese etc.)
  • Employee benefits management
  • Checking the general ledger and posting all costs and revenues within a given month
  • Cooperation with a SSC in Mumbai (Accountant – ATM Recs) and control of inputs done by SSC
  • Cooperation with the Financial manager (line manager) in the Czech Republic
  • Processing of monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of documents for quarterly group reports
  • Cooperation with external auditors during the preliminary and final audit
  • Other ad hoc tasks from the direct superior (calculations, cost analyzes)
  • What we are looking for:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Czech accounting and a similar position (VAT, general knowledge of the Income Tax Act, CAS accounting standards)
  • Good analytical thinking, ability and willingness to learn new things
  • Intermediate knowledge of English orally and in writing, fluent Czech speaking
  • Knowledge of MS Office Excel – advanced functions (PivotTables, VLOOKUP functions)
  • Accuracy, diligence in processing the agenda and attention to detail
  • Positive, proactive approach, team player
  • Knowledge of the accounting program 6K an advantage
  • English – verbal, written form (daily communication with colleagues in India, England)
