Position: Security Engineer

Role: Full time, 40 hrs/week, flexible
Location: Poznań, Poland (hybrid or working from home) 
Project: Foundation Infrastructure

Your Daily Responsibilities

  • As part of the Private Cloud and Network team you will be Develop, deploy, and support Pearson’s proprietaryhybrid-cloud interconnect platform.
  • Work closely with the internal tools team to develop monitoring of Pearson’s global infrastructure estate.
  • High level troubleshooting both Cloud based and traditional
  • Project management experience managing implementations of new enterprise-wide technology initiatives. 
  • This may involve overseeing the work of third-party service providers. Identifying, monitoring, and defining the requirements of the overall security of the system.
  • Testing and checking the system for weaknesses in software and hardware.
  • Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols.
  • Forensic follow up -Investigating intrusion and hacking incidents, collecting incident responses, and carrying out forensic investigations.
  • Developing tracking documents to note system vulnerabilities.
  • Reporting the security analysis and monitoring findings.
  • Implementing regulatory systems in accordance with IT security procedures, and policies.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a network engineer or information security engineer.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining security systems.
  • Emphasis on Checkpoint, Fortinet and McAfee systems
  • Thorough understanding of the latest technologies, security principles, and protocols (i.e. WAF, Geo-location security tools, etc.)
  • Thinking outside the box – different ways to solve the existing threats and security issues.
  • Understanding of the web-related terminologies and software such as web applications, web related protocols, service-oriented architectures, and web services.
  • Ability to communicate and report network security incidents and issues to the upper management.
  • Experience using automation frameworks and tools such as Git, Rundeck, Ansible, Terraform, and
  • CloudFormation.
  • Confident, critical thinking problem solver with excellent written and interpersonal skills; ability to make sound decisions under pressure with limited information, and influence decision making at all levels.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, Cyber-Security, or equivalent experience.
  • CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional Security)
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), etc.
  • AWS Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect
