IDC’s European Partnering Ecosystems team helps technology vendors understand the ongoing evolution of channels, partnering, alliances and ecosystem strategies. About the Position

IDC is looking for an analyst with subject matter expertise and a strong interest in partnering, go-to-market models, ecosystem-based business models and new digital value chains to help drive the continued development and success of its research program on European Partnering Ecosystems.

The role is suitable for ambitious applicants with a strong working knowledge of partnering trends. You may have experience as a channel journalist, editor, industry analyst, consultant, channel partnering executive or partner marketing specialist. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ongoing customer interaction. Enthusiasm, energy, creativity, and an ability to see the bigger picture and collaborate within a virtual team are pre-requisites for success.

The role will have three key aspects:

  • Shape and create content for the program
  • Deliver consulting projects
  • Engage with clients and prospects to cement IDC’s position as a thought leader in this space
  • This role will require a deep understanding of the forces shaping channels and alliance strategy, how this is transforming the partner landscape, and the implications in terms of vendor strategy.

    The successful candidate will have excellent customer relationship skills and will be eager to contribute to the continuing expansion of our client base and business across the wider EMEA region. Ideally, the candidate will be based in Europe. The role may involve some international travel, primarily in Europe or in North America.

  • The candidate will shape and deliver research for our existing syndicated product – both qualitative and data-focused. They will do this by interacting with the market, as well as desk research from varied publicly available sources.
  • The analyst will be asked to present in webinars, to clients or at IDC events. They must stay abreast of trends related to partnering and contribute to the creation of market notes and timely material that provides event commentary and analyst viewpoints
  • They will also lead and/or support specific consulting projects, based on IDC data and analysis.
  • The candidate is also expected to build a strong presence and relationships with vendors and partners and understand the key business and technology issues they face
  • We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work independently, while also thriving in a cooperative environment with other team members, both in Europe and as part of our global research groups.


    The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level with a minimum of 5 years of relevant subject experience at Manager level, with candidates with greater than 8 years’ experience being considered at a Director level. They will possess excellent analytical and communication skills and be eager to support and directly contribute to IDC’s portfolio and business.   • Marketing minded and social media fluency
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English, additional European languages a plus
  • Existing industry relationships and/or willingness to build network of contacts with key stakeholders and influencers
