Product Owner

The project:

With the “VisionApp program” Wolters Kluwer is developing a research product for the legal and tax markets. Currently, Wolters Kluwer has multiple local research solutions that are aiming at specific local markets. Research has shown that customer needs in these markets are very similar. As most of the local solutions are late in their lifetime and not suitable to scale, Wolters Kluwer has chosen to develop a new platform that can serve the different markets from one single configurable product. In order to deliver this, a new global product development track has been set up and started to develop the new solution. After one year of development there is already a first beta version available, yet a lot of features have to be built and the scalability and configurability needs to be improved.

The position:

Wolters Kluwer has adapted SAFe in a customized variant. The VisionApp program is set up as Agile Release Train with two “Global Product Owners” (equals SAFe product managers) and four team product owner positions. We are looking for a team product owner.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Participate in discover/design activities relevant for the development team

  • Participate in mission and PI briefings and pick up requirements for the team

  • Write epics and user stories and bring them to be ready for PI planning

  • Make user stories ready for sprint planning

  • Prioritize team backlog

  • Do business acceptance on epic and user story level

  • Participate in PI planning, sprint planning, team ceremonies

  • The role is characterized by a deep cooperation with the Global Product Owners who have the main role of creating and pursuing the product vision, leading the discover/design activities, providing stakeholder management with internal customers, and prioritizing the overall roadmap.

    Required skills and knowledge:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a product owner

  • Profound agile way of working

  • Very good team skills

  • Fluent English language skills

  • Jira, Confluence

  • Beneficial but not necessarily required:

  • Knowledge in the development of research applications

  • Knowledge in the domain of legal / tax customer segments

  • Knowledge of SOLR search engine and search use cases

  • Knowledge of semantic web technologies, graphs and usage of triples to provide more relevant content
