As a Lead Engineer Embedded Software- Aerospace you will perform conceptual design, architecture and development of dependable embedded software, firmware, controls, and its integration mainly for Aerospace and Vehicle applications. In this role, you will be also responsible for managing tools for SW specification, design, integration, testing and verification & validation. You will closely collaborate with global, embedded product development teams from initial conception through each of the design and development phases, up to and including certification with the support of model-based development processes, and utilization of automated testing, verification & validation tools.

Your key deliverables :

  • Provide technical leadership and perform in area of embedded software development of dependable systems including version/change control, build management, documentation, and reporting
  • Perform architecture, design analysis, and modeling to ensure certification compliance of all functional, performance and environmental requirements
  • Define embedded system level and software requirements to meet product performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members including systems, controls and electronics design engineers, program management, marketing, and product teams members to successfully develop and validate designs and products
  • Interfaces with stakeholders. Conducts project reviews and make presentations
  • Working with team members and engineering manager to estimate development, resources and timing to achieve the desired results
  • Serve as a subject matter expert externally and internally. This includes leadership/active participation in external industry and technical groups, mentoring junior level staff and consulting internal business and engineering partners. Assigns tasks and determines priority for project team members as needed
  • Position requires up to 10% travel domestic and international.
  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering discipline, or related, from an accredited university.
  • 7+ year of experience with embedded system systems applications or relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong experience with C language and Mathworks family tools (Matlab/Simulink).
  • Experience in full life cycle of software development, verification and certification preferably in aerospace or automotive domains.
  • Knowledge of V-model development process with support of model-based development process and automated tools for analysis, testing, verification & validation.
  • Knowledge of industrial functional safety norms ideally Aero / Vehicle (DO 178C, ARP4754A, ISO26262, IEC 61508,..)
  • Preferably experience in Hardware-In-the-Loop, Model-In-the-Loop, and/or Software-In-the-Loop simulations.
  • Customer focused with good relationship building and communication skills.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
