We are looking for a talented, experienced Middleware Administrator to join C.H. Robinson’s App Hosting team.
You will focus on system health, performance, and availability of our middleware environment by engaging in high priority incidents to identify the root cause, restore service as quickly as possible, and identify opportunities for future prevention. You will also be responsible for the deployment of web services, containers, and other components within the middleware domain.
Our mission is to be on the front lines of support for the wide realm of technologies within our App Hosting Domaine. You will have the opportunity to work both collaboratively and independently within a global team.
Your responsibilities
  • Deploy and support web, middle-tier, and 3rd-party systems across on-prem and cloud platforms
  • Proactively ensure performance and availability of tools and systems via real-time monitoring and triage
  • Focus on incident prevention, mitigation, monitoring and detection strategies
  • Investigate system resource capacity, performance, and anomalies
  • Troubleshoot platform and routing issues within on-prem and cloud environment
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks to increase efficiencies, productivity, and to enable delegation of support tasks
  • Work with monitoring and application teams to ensure proper monitoring and alerting for tools and systems
  • Create documentation for support processes and procedures
  • Participate in handoff and assumption of support and deployment activities to/from other regional team members
  • Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation (one per month)
Our requirements
  • +4 years of enterprise experience maintaining, supporting, and deploying production systems
  • Microsoft Server technology and IIS experience
  • Linux (RHEL) experience
  • Must be familiar with load-balancing and traffic management technologies (F5, Kong, Avi)
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (ie. PowerShell, Bash), with a desire and aptitude to learn others
  • Fluent English
Optional
  • Experience with code management and documentation tools (Github, confluence)
  • Experience with container and orchestration (Docker, AKS, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform
  • Experience working with 3rd party application (Biztalk, RabbitMQ)
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills; ability to coordinate and motivate resources
  • Proactive, accountable, autonomous, and solutions oriented
  • Demonstrate previous experience in establishing and utilizing processes and metrics to manage support activities
