IP and Optical – Sales Engineer Eastern Europe

Responsibilities

  • Meet customers, prospects, and partners and serve as technical advisor promoting Ribbon solutions for IP and Optical Networking solutions
  • Understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and create ongoing positive relationships
  • Support the account team in delivering on the sales/budget targets
  • Lead the technical part of new tenders & opportunities as part of the account team
  • Manage the technical sales process of new opportunities including taking part in the negotiations and closure of orders
  • Prepare technical responses to RFIs/RFPs (Bill of material, table of compliance, HLD etc.)
  • Provide training and mentorship for business partners and channels
  • Ongoing collaboration & communication with internal stakeholders such as PLM, Marketing
  • Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer in one of the industry’s leading vendors
  • Knowledge and understanding in IP Networking: IP/MPLS, MPLS-TP, Segment Routing, etc
  • Knowledge and understanding in Optical Networking: Optical System (ROADM, Transponder, Muxponder, OTN switching, protection mechanisms etc.) 
  • Good understanding of telecommunication technology, market and trends, especially open concepts/initiatives such as Disaggregation, TIP, Open ROADM, ORAN, Open RAN
  • Deep experience in IP and/or optical network design
  • Excellent presentation skills, presenting to all levels, including executives (CXO)
  • Native language Czech – Mandatory
  • Fluent Business English – Mandatory
  • Ability to travel abroad when requested, mostly within the Eastern European region

  • Industry certifications (Cisco, Juniper, others) – advantage
