International Trade Analyst

International Trade Analyst, Novartis, Prague, Czech Republic

65 countries worldwide are supported by the Center of Excellence team, collaborating with the Global Logistics and Customs and Trade Compliance functions across all Novartis divisions and businesses.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Accountable for the correctness of customs classification for material in scope globally.
  • Act as an advisor when required to Novartis business if customs classification needs further explanation or training.
  • Prepare and present reports on customs and trade compliance matters.
  • Support collection, analysis and submission of the Key Performance Indicators from Novartis businesses to Global CTC function.
  • Manage export controls including classification, management and monitoring of license application for controlled goods and/or embargo and sanction territories.
  • Collaborate within the team and Novartis businesses to achieve objectives in customs and trade matters.
  • Advise and escalate to manager and the Global CTC function immediately of any compliance related issues.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedicine or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs and international trade function.
  • Pharmaceutical, chemical or food industry experience is desired.
  • Experience with SAP and GTS.
  • Business English.
  • Excellent understanding of embargoes and sanction currently in place including screening process, potential match assessment, release or escalation.
  • Effective communication with a variety of teams and colleagues at different level of seniority.
