Due to an increase in Mott MacDonald’s workload in the region, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer within the growing Mott MacDonald’s Geotechnical team to be based in either Czech Republic or Hungary.
The role will be for a driven engineer to provide support to varied, multidiscipline infrastructure projects across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated geo-environmental team to manage the geotechnical input to multidiscipline infrastructure schemes. This will be across a range of sectors including light and heavy rail, highways and water industry and will include work from feasibility stage through investigation to detailed design. Work will be within multi-disciplined teams requiring good communication skills and collaboration for effective delivery of design work.
Support to the candidate will be provided by a geotechnical associate. It is expected that the candidate will grasp the opportunities provided and training support available to progress their own development. Where appropriate a formal training agreement can be provided.

We are seeking engineers with a strong analytical background. A fundamental understanding of geotechnical design and soil structure interaction is a benefit, preferably with experience of proprietary modelling software.
At the outset we would expect some experience in all named areas, but should your application be successful, you will have the opportunity to learn from other team members in the wider geotechnical skills group and to further develop your skills. Any prospective candidate must display a willingness to engage with new challenges as well as an ability to work confidently on tasks for which they have prior experience. Candidates should be able to demonstrate good written communication skills including report writing. The role will also require good communication and people skills. You will be at times in a client facing role and will be expected to liaise with clients and contractors both on-site and over the phone.
