Job Description

We’re looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to take the lead in bullet-proofing a platform that is rapidly scaling from hundreds to tens of thousands of users.

As our first dedicated Dev Ops hire, this role will require strong technical skills and the ability to interface with stakeholders from the engineering and operations teams.

This is a key hire for us with high expectations; within the first 90 days, you will be expected to:

  • Learn the current company technical infrastructure and associated software platforms (Google Cloud Platform, MongoDB, Node.js, RabbitMQ, Ubuntu Linux Server administration, etc)
  • Lead the transition from a docker-compose-based infrastructure to a more scalable Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Begin testing and evaluating an upgrade from MongoDB 3.6 to the latest stable 5.x release
  • Work with the CTO and COO to prioritize, spec out, and implement improvements to our internal infrastructure
In addition to the above, you’ll be expected to take on new tasks and challenges as they arise and work as a key part of our team to make the company successful

Technical Requirements

  • Strong Kubernetes knowledge and experience
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Linux-based (particularly Ubuntu) system administration
  • Experience with MongoDB querying and administration
Non-technical Requirements
  • Good English language proficiency, written and verbal
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex problems and propose iterative solutions to those problems
  • Ability to self-manage tasks, and ask for help when needed
  • Ability to engage other people within the business in order to achieve goals and complete tasks
A few other general traits and nice-to-have skills that might make you a good fit:
  • You have worked in or have knowledge and interest in Crypto
  • You are self-motivated, and care about the success of the company and the people you work with
  • IT Security experience
  • Experience with Bash scripting, RabbitMQ, CircleCI, Ansible
