Sony Corporation of America (SCA), is seeking a Cyber Security Data Analyst to join the Global Security Incident Response Team (GSIRT) in Herndon, VA.  This position will report to the GSIRT HQ Senior Manager and be a part of the team responsible for the oversight, tracking, and reporting of the GSIRT mission of protecting Sony by minimizing the frequency and impact of cyber incidents.
  • Develop advanced reporting content for leadership and executive management, providing narratives for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide detailed analysis and insights into data supporting the effectiveness of technical and process-based cyber security controls in order to provide recommendations
  • Perform analysis to ensure data quality of metrics, identify trends, opportunities for improvement and optimization
  • Facilitate and execute both automated and manual data collection
  • Liaison with Sony Group companies globally to discuss cyber security posture, system monitoring, and reporting requirements to deliver tailored reporting solutions
  • Support monthly program status reports for senior executives
  • Support efforts for repeatable data collection processes to ensure metrics and reports have consistently high data quality
  • Provide metric and reporting support to other security teams as needed, including ad hoc requests
  • Support metrics roadmap efforts for internal and external products, assisting with the maturity of the program
  • Handle multiple tasks and formulate responses/recommendations to internal customers and team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Support audits with GSIRT metrics as required
  • Assist in incident response metric and reporting activities as needed
  • Bachelor or associate degree, or concentration, in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 year of relevant experience in data analysis, statistics, information management or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word required
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g. -PowerBi) required
  • 2 years of experience using SQL required
  • Previous experience using Splunk desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to accomplish assigned tasks on time
  • Detail-oriented, with sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability and willingness to share your skills with other team members
  • Must be eligible to work unrestricted in the USA
