Country Procurement Manager NTO CH – GERMAN speaking

Country Procurement Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for leading or supporting one or more Procurement categories of all Swiss based Novartis Technical Operations Sites. The Country Procurement manager is the key procurement contact to one or more business areas (e.g. division(s), franchise(s), corporate function(s)). The role is accountable for implementing the global Procurement strategic goals on country level as well as develop local sub-category country strategies and successfully manage supplier performance and innovation.



Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage Novartis Operations Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) spend (~80m CHF) for 3 Sites in Switzerland.
  • Accountable to achieve CAPEX efficiency targets
  • Business Partnering of key stakeholders within Engineering, Project Management and Site Management functions
  • Leading the definition and execution of procurement sourcing plans for CAPEX projects including sourcing strategy, supplier pool, competitive bidding
  • Lead high value commercial and contract negotiations; lead and support CAPEX claim resolution/negotiations
  • Managing strategic supplier relationships and implement consistent key performance indicators for CAPEX, ensuring supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis to stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Creating, applying, completing and reviewing major contracts for the CAPEX category, and ensure that negotiated contracts are clearly communicated and that they are consistently applied.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor’s degree or University/Advanced degree in Business or other advanced degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration. Strong technical acumen and legal knowledge is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement experience in a large multinational organization, preferably in pharmaceutical industry and/or GMP environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in CAPEX projects.
  • Excellent communication, people management, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and German is a must.
  • Accountability, hands-on mentality and proven ability to develop trust-based relationships with key stakeholders. Technical knowledge; strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Analytical & Conceptual thinking, organizational skills, results oriented and proactive way of work.
  • Good understanding of claim management.

Possible job locations: Czech Republic, Austria or Poland.
