About the role
The Resin Projects & Analytics (RPA) Manager is a key contributor to the Global Polyolefins and Additives sourcing strategy. Reporting to the Global Category Lead, this role will develop, drive, manage, and deliver on project commitments in partnership with the Resin team. This will include communicating to sponsors and stakeholders when necessary.
The RPA manager will be responsible for leading the analysis of go-to-market activities (tenders, RFI’s, auctions, etc.) for the global category. To do so, this role will coordinate data input from relevant Suppliers and BG’s stakeholders. The RPA manager will constantly seek to identify and re-apply best practices while developing new analysis capabilities internally or externally.
Key Job Accountabilities
Project Management
- Support the development and implementation of a broad coordinated set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities of the department. Understand the of project management phases, techniques, and tools to:
- Initiate
- Prepare definition, scope, and requirements
- Execute & Control scope, workplans, resources, deliverables, Q&A, transition planning, etc.
- Close completion and assessment
- Identify, develop and initiate innovations and solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist. Works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
- Facilitate the assembling of project participants to ensure timely project progress and success
- Manage/report project budget and resource allocation as required
- Actively participates in cross-functional groups to solves problems across projects. Provides resources and organizational structure to promote collaborative initiatives.
- Develop and follow an agreed upon project management methodology
- Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems and resolutions as appropriate
- Prepare regular report outs and progress trackers for Procurement Managers
- Advocate and project manage the qualification and acceptance of alternative RESINS globally to facilitate Amcor’s ability to better optimize value and mitigate supply risk
Commercial Activities Support
- Support best practices to the strategy team on go-to-market solutions
- Project management support on tenders
- Coordinates and tracks data input from BG teams
- Performs analysis and delivers allocation scenarios (best-of-best, no-change, realistic, etc.)
- Recommends next steps to the GCL and team
- Full sourcing ownership / Global coordination of a sub-category
- Tracking rebates and following up with suppliers for contract KPIs
- Support in drafting and discussing contracts and rebate agreements with legal and suppliers
- Manage assurance of supply by monitoring critical material availability globally and resolve supply shortages by managing / distributing global allocations
Sustainability Coordination
- Coordinates, monitors and tracks the collection of GHG emissions from suppliers
- Supports Suppliers in the completion of the GHG tools and templates
- Track the market and supplier announcements, capacity for PCR resins to support and enable a deep understanding of the value chain for recycled plastics across the various markets globally
- Tracks availability, capacity and secured volumes for PCR resins for each BG vs targets
Analysts Community Leader
- Coordinates the growing community of Procurement market analysts across BG’s
- Supports and coaches BG analysts on commercial activities
- Shares best practices within the analyst’s community
- Develops and promotes analysis tools, harmonizing reporting across Business Groups
- Work with other resin team members globally and publish a PCR dashboard regularly, keeping track of available PCR resin prices and volumes for each Business Group
- Support Procurement Managers with the contracting process and the subsequent roll-out / tracking of rebates and contract KPIs
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in financial and/or market modelling
- Previous roles in procurement, market analysis, product management and/or material evaluation
- Proven ability to learn and assimilate new information quickly
- Mastery of quantitative applications such as Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Procurement bidding tools such as MM4, Bravo solutions or Jaggaer
- University degree (Graduate degree preferred) in business, finance or accounting
- Previous procurement experience not necessary but a plus
- Analysis experience in plastics, petrochemicals or other commodity markets will be an advantage
- Knowledge of VBA, SQL and ClickView preferred but not essential
