The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is in the midst of ongoing transformation that will change the dynamic of how GPO engages with its stakeholders. This transformation is necessary to keep up with the fast-changing environment, develop into a digital organization, meet the Board’s ambitious growth plans, and support SAP’s strategy.


The Real Estate & Facilities Category Team is part of the Global Procurement Organization and provides excellent business partnering to our internal and external stakeholders. The category is responsible for the definition and execution of global sourcing strategies in close collaboration with business owners, corporate legal, finance and controlling, as well as for sourcing and supplier management across the globe. The Category Real Estate & Facilities includes categories such as FM Services, Construction Engineering, Real Estate, Rent and Lease and Utility Procurement.

The Category Construction encompasses the global procurement responsibility concentrating on the office and building/construction related services, but also supports Line of Business on SAP’s transformation to provide an entire flexible work environment for employees. To facilitate SAP employees’ productivity and to contribute to the corresponding Location strategy, it is one of the most critical areas to enable SAP’s growth.

For our Category Construction, we are searching for a global Category Buyer.


  • Highly motivated colleague with solid stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Understand and determine business requirements.
  • Experience in strategic procurement within a multinational business, with a background in Construction.
  • Seek opportunities for improvements, innovations, and value generation within the team, the related Line of Business and external stakeholders.
  • Perform market analyses/ benchmarking and explore market capabilities to gain market intelligence.


  • University degree preferably in (Civil) Engineering, Real Estate Management, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong background in Construction and Engineering area beneficially supplemented by expertise in Rent and Lease of office space.
  • Leading of end to end procurement procedures and sourcing strategies.
  • Open-minded and willing to drive change.
  • Fluent English (spoken, written); preferable also German.
  • Ability to work in international teams and virtual environment.
  • Solid stakeholder management and negotiation skills, strategic thinking.


  • 2+ years’ experience in construction & engineering, preferable within indirect or direct procurement environments, ideally in a multinational environment.
  • Proven track record of business relationship with leading global construction and engineering or lease providers for workspace and office buildings.
