Business Expert with Trade Finance

We are seeking a new colleague to strengthen our team as Business Expert. You will be working in an international environment and in a cross-functional team. Your future team is responsible for the core banking system used by Commerzbank’s international branches across the globe. We can say that we function as a horizontal cluster for the bank’s international core banking system.

You will be responsible for specifying system enhancements, assisting user support in resolving system issues and testing fixes related to the core banking system with a focus on Trade Finance business, including all interfaces to other front-end and back-end applications. You will cooperate tightly with the Stake Holders and the Product Owners of the system as well as with the owners of the related IT process.

Your tasks

  • Support SW applications used in the European branches of Commerzbank - SW application portfolio management and steering, with focus on the Consolidation to decrease the cost/income ratio
  • Optimize processes to decrease the cost/income ratio
  • Implement and develop one or more SW application, services, processes and/or systems across the entire SW development life cycle
  • Prepare and implement digital strategies for: Services, processes, and systems; New technologies; Digital channels
  • Apply and develop necessary skills to set up new, future-ready digital architectures
  • Ensure that internal and external standards are met, regarding regulatory issues, reporting, compliance, and auditing
  • Be a partner for SW application vendors
  • Perform SW testing and quality assurance
  • Document information and issues into knowledgebase articles

Your profile

Business analysts have many hats and you will primarily need:

  • Significant experience in international corporate banking, providing a strong business knowledge and understanding of Trade Finance related IT/business processes
  • A university degree, BA at least
  • Experience in IT environment
  • Good project coordination and business analysis skills, with ability to understand business needs and transfer it in technical language
  • General technical skills (e.g. SQL queries)
  • Strong collaboration skills and focus on delivering solutions
  • Hands-on attitude and an open and pro-active communication, as we cooperate with all international branches of Commerzbank
  • Result orientation to meet agreed timelines

You will also make use of:

  • Strong communication skills in English - both verbal and written, as majority of communication and documentation is in English
  • Ability to provide strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver informative, well-organized presentations and documentations
  • Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum
  • Experience with projects in release management
  • Software Development Lifecycle knowledge
