Associate Director- Network Services LAN (Technical Engineering), Novartis, Prague, Czech Republic

This is the role of the business partner primarily for Connectivity Network service lines (LAN & WAN) but also collaboration with other Novartis IT engineering Organizations. You will design, install and support Local Area Networks & Wide Area Networks solutions to fulfill business requirements gathered by Global IT Infrastructure & Services.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Help to drive architectural improvements and standardization for the infrastructure/security environments
• Develop and enhance automated processes to release new solutions into the live environment
• Develop, own and maintain technical detailed standards (code & hardware versions, scripts and templates) per technology
• Consultation on customer, Connectivity and TIS (Technology and Infrastructure Services) driven projects
• Lead SMEs for technology Continuous Improvement, service maturity, service evolution and act as SME for one or multiple technologies and support / consult
• Patch, Vulnerability & Release Management decisions considering ISRM / technology manufacturer, service supplier and TAD recommendations
• Provide high level consultancy to Connectivity Service Lines and TIS community in their area of expertise
• Service Improvement – review and guide service providers for addressing clean-up or correction of network designs or configs

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• University degree level education or comparable education in Computer Science OR Engineering Science (technical background) OR work experience as senior network engineer in a global enterprise
• 8+ years related experience in designing, planning, documenting and implementing Network solutions using latest technology
• 8+ years of SME (subject matter Expert) relevant experience in routing and switching, Software defined LAN networks, and Wireless technologies
• Hands-on technical experience on Software defined networking (SD-LAN / SD-WAN) integration and technical experience on wireless infrastructure
• Strong and proven record in configuring QoS on both WAN and LAN, and proficiency in English language (spoken and written)

Desirable requirements:
• Advanced network certification (solution, brand or technology)
• ITIL v3 certification (Foundation) and/or Project Management (Foundation)
